Beans

Today Mark and I worked in the backyard for a little bit this afternoon. Beans was out there the entire time running around like a mad man! By the time we were done Mark decided that Beans needed a bath! Let me just say....the bathroom is SOAKED and so are we! He is running around the house as I type rolling on everything!

Also, I was just thinking...a year ago we were on our honeymoon and we got this picture of Beans from Mandy & Jeremy.


I think it is safe to say that he has grown a little in the past year!

Mark is on spring break this week so he is planning on getting a lot of outdoor work done so I am pretty excited about that! I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend! I know we are!!!

1 Year!!!

Yes, that is right...it has been one year since we got married!!!
One year since we saw more pink than we'd ever seen before.

One year since this group graced the church of Trinity Lutheran!








I can't believe it has been a year already! It has seriously gone by so fast, but then again it doesn't seem like we have been together for 7 years next week either!

We went to Louisville to get away for our anniversary. We had a great time. We went and toured the Slugger factory and then went to Fourth Street Live and had dinner and hung out. We ended the night with some AMAZING chocolate cake via room service! :) It was the perfect little getaway!!!

One year down, many, many more to come!!!

Doctor Appointment

We had our 2 week post-op appointment today and I look great!!! We were sooo happy to hear that everything went well and I have healed as I should have so it was great news. Mark took the day off to go with me to my appointment (he is too good). We made a day of it and went shopping(he needed new jeans), to lunch in Broad Ripple, to the Dog Bakery (Beans was happy :)) and then we got some ice cream. I hope everyone has a good weekend and enjoys this BEAUTIFUL weather. I know we will!!! :) We celebrate our one year wedding anniversary Sunday!!! Woohoo! :)

Thank You

Mark & I just wanted to thank everyone for all of your prayers & support, flowers, gifts, cards & meals through the past couple of weeks. We definitely couldn't have gotten through this hard time without you! We know that everything happens for a reason and are excited to see what our future holds!

Also...I want to give a shout out to my brother-in-law Ryan! Today is his birthday! Happy Birthday Ryan!!!

Laundry Detergent & Weekend Plans

Ok....laugh it up I am posting about laundry detergent, but I have a new love and I thought I would share it...

I went back to work this week and we have new laundry detergent there and let me just tell you the clothes are coming out of the dryer smelling AMAZING! I was freaking out about how wonderful everything smelled and sniffing the kids, blankets and burp cloths (Ask my co-worker Suzanne) I raved about this stuff all day. The detergent is called Surf and the scent is Aloha Splash. It is a powder detergent and let me tell you I am in LOVE! I went to Wal-mart tonight and bought some and have the sheets in the washer right now. I can't wait to sniff them all night!


Anyway...onto our exciting weekend plans...

We decided we were just going to have a low key weekend and just relax again....I will probably be washing everything in the house! :) Tomorrow I have to go get more blood tests. The Dr. called today and they want to make sure my HCG level went back to zero. HOPEFULLY this is the last time I have to have blood taken in a while. My arms are still recovering from the 1795659 times I had to get blood taken and have IVs last week. My Grandma & Grandpa are in town this weekend so we are going to meet them for lunch too! It should be a fun day!

Also, pink eye is going around the daycare. We had our 3rd kid out today with it. I am hoping that I am just crazy, but I feel like my right eye has been pretty itchy and somewhat irritated tonight, so I am crossing my fingers that I don't get it.

Sadly, I think that is all I have to report from the Lowry household. We aren't very exciting! Our 1 year anniversary is next weekend! I can't believe it has already been a year! 1 year wedding anniversary 3/21/10 and 7 year dating anniversary 3/28/10!!! Well I better go get my sheets in the dryer! :)

UPDATE:
Ok...so I just made Mark go into the laundry room with me for the big reveal....I must say....it wasn't as fragrant as it was today at work. They smell good, but not as great as everything did today! I might not have used enough detergent! I will retest next Friday! :)

'cause you had a bad day....

So today was going really well. I felt great and was ready to get out of the house to go somewhere besides a doctor's office. I got a grocery list together and we headed to Walmart. It was a quick and uneventful trip. While we were out we decided it was nice enough to grill out and watch the Cubs preseason game. We had missed that all winter.
We got home all excited about our afternoon plans. Well that is until Mark checked the t.v. and the Cubs game was rained out. Then, he bent over to plug something in for me and ripped out the butt of his "favorite" jeans and to top it all off it started raining outside. I must admit I did get a pretty good laugh out of this chain of events! Mark was even nice enough to let me take a picture of his jeans for the blog! Nice pose huh? :) This also got me thinking....do any of you have any funny stories regarding pants ripping??? Please share if you do!!! :)

Sleeping Beauty?!?

I am pretty sure if Grace isn't eating this is her spot. It always makes me laugh to see her laying with her paw over her eyes like she doesn't want to be bothered! I actually think she may have learned this from Mark because he usually has an arm or something covering his face too.

About yesterday....
The Dr. said the surgery went really well. I think the worst part of it for me was being put under. That never agrees with me. I pretty much slept all day yesterday, but have not been in any pain yet so that is a big plus. The entire staff at the surgery center was GREAT and it seemed like most of them had experiences similar to ours. Keep sending prayers our way! Thanks for all of your support!

Very Sad News...

Well after a week long emotional roller coaster our worst fears were confirmed. We have miscarried the baby. I started having complications on Sunday night so we went to the Emergency Room. They weren't overly concerned. My HCG levels were still rising and we could still see the embryo on the ultrasound. However, after blood work multiple times this week and a second ultrasound this morning the doctors have confirmed that we have miscarried. I have to have surgery tomorrow morning at 7am. Please send your prayers our way.

Mark & I are both at peace with everything and are doing as well as could be expected. We know that God has a plan for us. The Dr. said we could start trying again in a couple of months and that sometimes these things just happen. He has no reason to believe that our next pregnancy will have any issues so that was good news.

As for the blog....I decided to keep it going. We really don't live too interesting of a life, but I will try to find something to write about. You may get a lot of posts about the pets or food!
